There is lots to gain from the consistent, conscious practicing of piano scales. They develop your technique and dexterity. They also improve your timing (when playing with a metronome) and aid in training your ear. The trick is to be mindful when practicing.  It is a discipline and almost a meditation at the same time.   It is essential that the student take the time to know what they are playing and why. When I teach #piano   I basically use the same method for each beginning student to teach them the scales. It is methodically and not an instant process. It takes a minimal dedication of time and effort over a period of months or years depending on the students age, level, etc. to truly master the scales. I will explain more later, but first I will briefly explain to #PianoStudenthttp://click-to-read-mo.re/p/8sX4/53c248d0
